Role: Network Engineer
Location: Shelton, CT

Requirement:
Seeking to retain an IT network engineering consultant on a contract basis to assist with the following projects and initiatives:
- Central Facility Construction
- General IT Network operations and projects and hands on configuring Cisco equipment.
- The network engineering consultant will be engaged to develop high-level strategy and architecture, and serving as the technical SME to support these goals. The consultant will also be tasked with:
- Developing technical implementation project plans
- Collaborating closely with and supporting the information security team in these projects
- Interfacing with various project teams
- Interfacing with other technical resources to coordinate transition activities
- Interfacing with vendor resources
- Identifying issues
- Identifying potential longer-term follow on projects to better consolidate and standardize the UIL IT network infrastructure following the immediate integration efforts
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
- Significant experience supporting and managing large scale network projects (deployment, integration, migration) in a lead role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of IP networking topics including routing, switching, IP Telephony, WLAN, and WAN connectivity along with comprehensive knowledge of Cisco network infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of operating systems, client-server architecture, virtualization, and providing network infrastructure to support these systems.
- Working knowledge of network security infrastructure including firewalls, proxies, and intrusion detection.
Candidate should have a current Cisco CCNP or CCIE certification, or equivalent.
