Architect and manage the design and daily operations of the Windows Infrastructure Services computing environment. Primary responsibility is to design, implement, and support an enterprise level automated solution to reduce support requirements and increase overall employee and IT personnel productivity.
This position will play a leading role in the design, implementation and administration of the Microsoft based systems and solutions. The client has a strong commitment to staying on the leading edge of technologies. We are looking for an experienced Architect level candidate to join our rapidly evolving, fast-paced culture. This position is a senior architecture position, and successful candidates will demonstrate a history of developing new technologies in a large scale environment with an emphasis on the Microsoft technology stack.
Responsibilities include the architecture and management of all aspects of the Microsoft Windows and supporting technologies infrastructure, as well as any other supporting processes and technologies that may be developed. Primary technical focus will be to develop the product, processes and procedures, and technical training for personnel of all Windows based infrastructure services including hardware, hosting, operating systems, software, and patch management required to support the organization. This position is responsible for evaluating and defining standards for all server hardware and hosted solutions, messaging in unified communications standards, virtualization, and storage standards, as well as the automation of process to optimize support. This position will work closely with other departments to architect solutions that allow them to be more secure and efficient. Provide technical guidance for all aspects of daily operations. Assist in developing career path for other technical team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
- MUST have experience with design of Active Directory, Messaging, Unified Communications, Virtualization, and Storage in a large organization. VMWare, Microsoft Lync, Microsoft Exchange 2010, and EMC knowledge is highly desired.
- Extensive Active Directory administration, design and implementation experience Experience in managing/architecting large-scale Active Directory migrations is highly desirable.
- 6+ years experience supporting production information systems, including a minimum of 5 years supporting Windows systems.
- Strong hands on experience with Windows 200x server in an enterprise environment.
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Exchange 2010, with an emphasis on consolidated services and unified communications (fax, voice, etc.).
- Candidates should be well versed in multi-TB storage area networks specifically EMC, backup solutions specifically Microsoft DPM and disaster recovery.
- Extensive knowledge of database technologies including SQL 200x, mySQL, and Oracle, knowledge of clustering database & other technologies is a major plus.
- Extensive knowledge of MS Terminal Server/Citrix MetaFrame using CAGs or Netscaler installation and support.
- Solid experience & understanding of systems management services including Microsoft SCOM & SCCM is a key skill set.
- Extensive knowledge of DHCP, WINS, DNS, DFS, Browsing Services, Internet services and Windows Security including Group Policy Objects.
- Candidates should be well versed in scripting technologies specifically with Active Directory automation experience, Powershell, VBScript, and PERL
- History of new technology exploration through industry research and/or conference attendance.
- A strong customer service orientation and accustomed to taking an active role in executing quality service.
- Experienced in a fast-paced and flexible environment, and possess the ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
- Experience in workforce optimization – finding the most optimal way to deliver newly architected solutions with the least amount of human labor or training.

- Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of server related software.
- Solid understanding of network security policies, design, configuration, backup and recovery, and the deployment techniques required.

- Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff enterprise wide.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Requires ability to complete independent assignments within a team project and ability to visualize and articulate project parameters.
JOB FUNCTIONS

o May manage the initiation phase of all approved IT projects for assigned business units including development of business requirements and justification, analysis of potential solutions, and preparation of appropriate project plan and/or purchase requisitions.
