Location is Northwest suburb outside of Chicago.
SUMMARY
This individual works both independently and with other members of the Online Product Development team, with primary responsibility to design, develop and enhance components of the Client Internet and Extranet sites, delivering customer-facing B2B applications. Candidates must have in-depth software development experience and experience in agile development methodologies. This developer will play key roles in the design, build, testing and launch of industry-changing applications considered critical to our overall company growth strategies, and will be chartered with working within a team that rapidly launches innovative web and decision tool products. Client Technology, the department that this developer reports to, is responsible for a portfolio of web-based applications and a set of next generation business intelligence tools that service over $2B of client transactions annually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is a demanding, highly dynamic and technically challenging position. A candidate must be experienced in all stages of the software development life cycle Requirements gathering, Design, Development, Construction and Implementation. Candidate must be skilled in n-tier web application development. The candidate must also have excellent people skills and be resourceful as an occasional technical team product leader. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Enhancement and maintenance of existing and new web applications · Technical Design, Coding, and Unit Test of web applications in accordance with business requirements and technical standards · Design and Development of reusable components for web application · Participation in functional specifications, prototyping, and estimation for web development projects · Participate in the development of detailed design specifications for use by the technical team · Participation in evaluation and prototype of new technologies, coding practices or third-party technology for use in web application · Work with business teams to clarify requirements and business needs
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or applicable field · 6+ years experience in IT · 4+ years experience of web development using ASP.NET and ASP · In depth experience of creating dynamic front-end GUI using JQuery/ExtJS · Demonstrated strength in DOM scripting with AJAX · 3+ years experience with SQL and T-SQL · Experience with object-oriented design and programming techniques · Possess creative problem solving skills · Excellent team work skills with an ability to get the work done with minimal supervision · Understanding of large scale, multi-tier web application architecture · Working knowledge of ASP.NET 2.0 frameworks & IIS · Experience with Scrum and Test Driven Development a plus · Flex/Flash development experience a plus · Experience working with large datawarehouse-driven datasets, including GIS visualization, routing optimization, internal search engines, and collaborative filtering/behavioral analytics a plus · Google Maps API experience a plus · Windows Azure or Amazon S3 cloud storage API experience a plus | ||||
