Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
· Design and implement Object-Oriented software solutions for a Train Dispatching/Traffic Control System · Proven ability to understand a legacy system and design new functionality · Participate as a reviewer in technical and program reviews · Ability to communicate directly with customers and provide support · Work with a field support team to diagnose customer issues and quickly resolve issues · Define and execute unit, sub-system, and system tests to validate system behavior · Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements as well as perform system testing · Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
· Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other degree · Minimum 7 years of Software Development experience · Minimum 5 years of Windows VC++/MFC Development experience · Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 6 or 2005 development environment · Experience with Oracle 9i database (SQL/PL-SQL and ODBC usage) · Experience working with a client server architecture · Working knowledge in configuration management and defect tracking tools
Desired Qualifications:
· Domain knowledge in Computer Aided Dispatch Systems and Railroad Operating Practices · Understanding and translating customer requirements to software solutions · Experience with ClearCase Software Configuration Management and ClearQuest Defect Tracking · Experience with System Testing Processes, Tools, & Automation · Ability to creatively solve complex problems · Ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment · Ability to engage and build positive relationships with both customers and internal and external employees | ||||
