- 3-5 developing pl/SQL applications and working specifically with Oracle (8i,9i or 10g).
- 1-3 years developing server-side or database based applications using a 3rd generation programming language (Java, C++, Perl, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and quickly gain an understanding business rules and database schemas.
- Very detail oriented and thorough with respect to troubleshooting and correcting data issues in a production environment.
- Experience with tuning SQL queries and have an intimate understanding of issues effecting database performance a plus.
- Experience with XML and XML Schemas a plus.
- Experience with Java, JDBC, UNIX and shell scripting a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, maintain and document pl/SQL stored procedures, triggers, etc. to perform a variety of data processing tasks, based on established coding standards and design principles.
- Quickly acquire a detailed understanding of existing business data models, rules and structures and existing database schemas and data flows, from interviews with application developers, business users and independent review of code, database schemas and documentation.
- Assist application developers writing and tuning SQL queries.
- Handle/reconcile data inconsistency issues as new and updated data replicates through to target systems and track/dispatch specific issues to the underlying data providers.
- Perform data adjustments for varying subsets of metadata using SQL and PL/SQL.
- Write SQL to fulfill customer requests for content delivery reports and re-delivery of digital content.
- Assist with Database schema design, implementation and documentation.
- Work closely with a team of talented developers, DBAs and business users.
- Accept and provide direction, work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks
